It comes with the free pattern These little stockings work up so fast that you can make a bunch in a short amount of time. I made for my son’s second grade class last year. I attached treat bags of candy to them. All of the children LOVED them! Christmas Stocking Ornament Free Crochet Pattern
*This pattern is based on the green stocking with the white heel and white cuff*Materials:
Red Heart Yarn (green and white) Hook US G/4mm Stitch marker Yarn needleToe
Round 1: Magic Ring, Ch 1, 6 sc in ring, do not join. 6sc Round 2: Work 2 sc in each st around. 12sc Round 3: *Sc in next st, 2 sc in next st*, repeat around, sl st in next st. 18sc Round 4: Ch 1, hdc in each st around, sl st to join in first st. 18sc Round 5-7: Repeat round 4.Heel
Join the white yarn in first stitch. Do not cut green. You will pick it back up after the heel is finished. Row 1: Ch 1, sc in same st, sc in next 5 sts, turn. 6sc Row 2: Ch 1, sc in each st across, turn. 6sc Row 3: Ch 1, sc2tog, sc in next 2 sts, sc2tog, turn. 6sc Row 4: Ch 1, sc in each st across. Fasten off. 6sc Using the tail, fold Row 4 in half and seam the two halves together to create the heel pocket.Body
Pick up green. Round 8: Ch 1, evenly work 6 hdc along ends of Heel rows, hdc in each remaining st around, sl st to join in first st. 18hdc Round 9: Ch 1, hdc in each st around, sl st to join in first st. 18hdc Rounds: 10-12: Repeat Round 9. Fasten off.Cuff
Lay stocking flat and join the white at back of cuff opening so it lines up with the heel. Round 1: Ch 1, hdc in each st around, sl st to join in first st. 18hdc Hanger Ch 8, make loop, attach in same stitch as ch. Fasten off. The yarn colors can be changed to whatever you like. The Christmas Stocking ornament can be done in any color combination, solid, stripes, etc. You can even change the stitches in the body of the stocking for different effects. Look how I changed the striped stocking above. There you have it! That was the seventh and last ornament in the series!
